August 1944

Canadian Infantry platoon has orders to clear a nearby village, extra support is available including 2x Sherman’s and a Sniper.

Expected enemy resistance at Platoon level with possible armour and antitank support.

The Canadian advance is temporarily halted to allow troops to move up to the assembly area which in turn gives the Germans time to deploy the majority of their infantry.

German Panzer IV takes up position.

More German infantry appear to bolster the defences and go in to Overwatch when alerted to the threat from snipers.

A Canadian sniper hides behind cover on their right flank.

More Canadian troops deploy on their left lank, this time a depleted section.

The Canadian infantry open fire on the Germans hiding in the building.

More Canadian infantry have deployed, this time into buildings on their side of the stream (represented by the plain MDF boards with Lichen on).

First of the Canadian Sherman’s makes an appearance!

The Sherman takes up position

But comes under fire from the German Panzer IV and is driven back

A second Sherman (proxies by a Churchill) arrives on table and open fires on German infantry hiding in the village.

The German infantry think it may be a good idea to redeploy!

One Sherman begins to advance into the village

After advancing to the Canadian left flank, the Sherman falls foul of a German Panzerfaust!

More Canadian infantry advance into the village.

German infantry have come under fire from an enemy sniper. Meanwhile a Panzerschreck team open fire on the remaining Sherman tank.

After exchanging fire with the German Panzer IV and coming under fire from two Panzerschrecks the Sherman finally succumbs to a shot from the Panzer IV

The Canadian sniper redeploys after wounding the German commander twice. However the Canadians decide to with draw after the loss of their armour.
