Adults Vs Kids CoC Game II Part 1.

After their defeat last week the boys were out for some revenge and wanted another match! So Dave and I hatched a plan to get the boys more involved and to give them their own men to control. To this end we decided to give them 24 support points to be divided between them. The idea was to give them a section of men each plus a Senior Leader along with 8 support points. As the British would be up against the Panzer Grenadiers again, the extra 3 support points gain from fighting these was used to purchase the last of the Senior Leaders.

The boys opted to go for:

  • Churchill AVRE
  • Recce Section with 1 Bren & 1 PIAT
  • Sniper
  • Extra Infantry Section
  • Medic
  • 2″ Mortar

In reply we opted to go for:

  • Senior Leader
  • Panzerschreck team
  • Hertz Tank Destroyer
  • Sniper
  • IE18 Infantry Gun
  • Pioneer Flamethrower Team
  • Sdkfz 250/1 with Recce Team

Dave set up the table which can be seen in the images below.

This was to be the first game using our new gaming mat from Killing Fields Terrain. This matt is made from Teddy Bear fur material and then dyed to give a realistic grass effect.

Deployment went well again for both sides with no great advantage on one side or another.

The British made good use of their 2″ mortars to provide smoke cover and advanced their infantry up in all three sectors (centre, left and right flanks) for little casualties.

In response the Germans deployed in a defensive line on their right flank, used the Hertzer to lock down the road and advanced two sections up the left flank supported by the Pioneer Flamethrower team.

The game progresses….

The second part of this game will be fought on Saturday (23-02-19), we’ll post the AAR as soon as we can after the game.
