To try and keep an accurate log of the game I created a basic AAR template in Excel. This AAR template logs the forces used, by who, and the units used. It also logs what happen during each turn or phase in note form.
This file is included below as a pdf file for reference.
This game saw the British attacking the Germans somewhere in Normandy 1944.
Both sides started with a Force Morale of 8 with the British rolling 6 for their support points, which gave the Germans 3.
The British opted for a Forward Observer, extra 2″ Lt Mortar and a Pre Game Barrage. Whilst the Germans took and additional Senior Leader and an Adjutant.

The first turn (made up of 10 phases) saw the deployment of both forces although the British Pre Game Barrage slowed down the initial German deployment.
The British managed to contact their off table artillery support and bring down fire support on the Germans but unfortunately for the British, this had little against the Germans who used a full Chain of Command die to end the turn, and hence, the barrage!
The second turn continued in a similar manner with the British continuing to shell the Germans but again this had little effect. The same again happen in the third, single phase turn.
Turn four saw intense firefights between the British and Germans with the advantage swinging from one side to another culminating in the Germans close assaulting a badly beaten up British section forcing them to route. This was then followed by more exchanges or fire on a more even basis.
In turn five the Germans kept the initiative allowing them to manovure and fire on the British before launching a close assault from two of their sections on to one of the remaining British sections, but outnumbering them four to one, routed the British before contact was made. At this point the British Commander decided to withdraw his remaining troops from the battlefield.
