Recently I had been thinking about the existing table arrangements in the barn and decided I wasn't happy about the amount of space available for some of our players, especially around one of the 8 x 4 tables. The positioning of which wasn't great as it was situated in-between two workbenches. Playing games one this … Continue reading News From The Bat Cave

Games Night 19th June ’19
Two games of Chain of Command played. First, Rory's British Vs Ivan's Germans in defence. Played 'Flank Attack'. First time we'd played this scenario, it wasn't one that appealed to me in the past but turned out to be a great game. Unfortunately for Rory, the dice gods were very much against him, so much … Continue reading Games Night 19th June ’19
Game night 22nd May 2019
Another game of Cruel Seas this week. This time with the Germans trying to sink Rory's merchant ship's. The convoy lost one of the merchantmen but managed to sink the German attack boats so a minor victory to the Brits!
Games Night 15th May 2019
And now for something completely different! Cruel Seas! Rory brought round his copy of Cruel Seas by Warlord Games and put on a couple of games of 1/300th scale naval action. The majority of the ship's used were scratch built by Rory and looked impressive on the table top. Both Rory and Dave enjoyed the … Continue reading Games Night 15th May 2019
Saga, Age of Magic! A First Look.
7th May 2019 This is a brief overview of my first impressions of the Saga rules and supplement 'The Age of Magic' (Gripping Beast and Tomahawk Studios). Last weekend was my first foray into this game system and if the game that was played is anything to go by I think this is set of … Continue reading Saga, Age of Magic! A First Look.

It also logs what happen during each turn or phase in note form. This file is included below as a pdf file for reference. … Continue reading Chain of Command AAR 24/04/19
Bolt Action AAR 7th April 2019
For our second Bolt Action Game Colin and I chose to field a larger army, this time at approx 1000 points. Unfortunately I didn't take notes about the game again so this is really more of a picture gallery of the game with captions where I remember what happened. My German Heer Platoon with supports. … Continue reading Bolt Action AAR 7th April 2019

CoC Vs Bolt Action Pt 3.
Before I start let me first say that this post is not about championing one set or rules over another. It's about my own opinion about playing a similar game with Bolt Action and the Chain of Command sets of rules and what I see as the advantages and disadvantages (or likes and dislikes) we … Continue reading CoC Vs Bolt Action Pt 3.
CoC Vs Bolt Action Pt 2.
A few days on from our last game Colin came round again, this time for a game of Bolt Action. Our intention was to use the same forces, or as close to as possible as those used in the previous Chain of Command game. Points wise this worked out at thoroughly 460 points per side. … Continue reading CoC Vs Bolt Action Pt 2.
